Or, perhaps a “pluff mud letter week” might be more appropriate for a sparkling new facility A Red Letter Week Town Hall’s Grand Opening By Bill Farley whose design features include so many accent features evocative of the Lowcountry. It all began on Aug. 8, with the official ribbon cutting and grand opening for the new building, located just an oyster shell’s throw from the old building on the same street, Ann Edwards Lane. The list of attendees included members of the current and past Town Councils, former Mount Pleasant Mayors Billy Swails and Kruger Smith, elected officials from neighboring municipalities and state legislators, former Town Administrator Mac Burdette and former department heads, representatives of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham and U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford, representatives from Mount Pleasant Waterworks and Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce President Chris Staubes. Speakers included Mayor Linda Page, Town Administrator Eric DeMoura, Executive Programs Manager Lauren Sims and the architect for the Town Hall Former Mayor Billy Swails, Mayor Linda Page and Former Interim Mayor Kruger Smith prepare to cut the ribbon, officially opening Mount Pleasant’s new Town Hall.
