Participa- tion was outstanding, with more than 66,000 votes cast — that’s more than 400,000 in the last nine years — in more than 260 categories. Our readers voted for their favorites in seven sections: Food and Drink; Shopping and Goods; Personalities and Services; Health and Wellness; Entertainment and Leisure; Pets; and, our newest category, COVID-19. We know it can be challenging to find the best place in Mount Pleas- ant to get your car fixed, open a savings ac- count, attend a yoga class, shop for groceries or eat a deli- cious brunch. But over the years, we all find our favorites – those places we come to trust. They make us feel at home the minute we walk in the door. And it’s to everyone’s advantage when we can share those trusted places with our friends and neighbors. Each year, Mount Pleasant Magazine makes it easy for you to share your favorite places, favorite doctors, favorite restaurants, favorite everything. And if you don’t already have a favorite in one of our categories, here’s your insider’s guide to all the best Mount Pleasant and East Cooper have to offer. We know this year was different. Many of our favorites had to close for a period of time, and now, more than ever, our local businesses need support. A comment voiced by many of our area businesses while we gathered their quotes on winning was how thankful they are to the local com- munity during this time. We want to congratulate the repeat winners but also recognize our new ones. They all make up the faces and businesses of our commu- nity – the very fabric that keeps our society afloat.
