A Legacy of Craftsmanship: Polly’s Fine Jewelry

Posted by MPM Leave a Comment

Polly’s Fine Jewelry with 2025 Best of Mount Pleasant logo

Polly’s Fine Jewelry has been a cornerstone of the Charleston area’s jewelry scene for nearly four decades, built on a foundation of passion, craftsmanship and dedication to exceptional customer service.

The journey began when Polly Moore, a young jewelry enthusiast, took an after-school job at a family-owned jewelry store in Columbia. At just 15, this experience ignited a lifelong passion for the industry. Over the years, through high school and college at the University of South Carolina, this dedication only deepened. It was during this time that Richard Moore entered the picture, and together, they envisioned creating something of their own.

With roots in Charleston and a strong desire to return, the duo researched, networked and ultimately determined that this historic and vibrant city was the perfect place to establish their dream business. Starting with a modest store in North Charleston, their commitment to quality, service and personalized experiences quickly earned them a loyal customer base. Today, Polly’s has flourished, with locations in Mount Pleasant, North Charleston and Summerville, serving generations of customers with distinction.

What truly sets Polly’s apart from other jewelers is their unwavering dedication to being a full-service, locally-owned jeweler that meets every customer’s needs. Their curated selection boasts a mix of timeless classics and the latest trends, ensuring that customers can always find something special. Beyond their extensive collection, Polly’s also offers in-house custom designs, expert gemologists and master jewelers who can create one-of-a-kind pieces from scratch. Whether it’s designing the perfect engagement ring, restoring a treasured heirloom or selecting a thoughtful gift, the team at Polly’s prides itself on delivering a highly personalized experience.

The philosophy at Polly’s is simple: jewelry is deeply personal and the experience of selecting it should be just as special.

Being named Best of Mount Pleasant is no small feat and Polly’s has received this prestigious recognition at least eight times. The award holds particular significance because it reflects the voices of their customers — those who have been loyal for decades and newcomers who have just discovered the exceptional service Polly’s provides.

Polly’s is more than just a business; it is an integral part of the Charleston community. With deep family ties in the area, Polly’s understands the importance of giving back. The company actively supports local organizations, including My Sister’s House, Happy Wheels, Going Places and the Charleston Animal Society. One of their most cherished initiatives is sponsoring the annual Christmas celebration for the children at Windwood Farm, ensuring that the spirit of giving shines bright each holiday season.

After 38 years, Polly’s continues to thrive because of its strong relationships with both customers and staff. Many team members have been with the company for over 20 years, forming bonds with families and helping multiple generations find meaningful pieces. This long-standing trust allows Polly’s to curate collections that truly resonate with their clientele. Whether it’s selecting a new piece with a specific customer in mind or crafting a custom design that tells a unique story, Polly’s commitment to personal service remains at the heart of its success.

With a deep passion for their craft, an unyielding focus on quality and “a personalized experience that is as personal as the jewelry itself,” Polly’s is poised to remain the Lowcountry’s go-to jeweler for generations to come.
