Yoga Daily: Uniting the Community One Stretch at a Time

Posted by MPM Leave a Comment

Class members at Yoga Daily in Mount Pleasant, SC stretching
Offering a traditional yoga experience, Yoga Daily aims to integrate mindfulness, strength, flexibility, functional movement and philosophy into their yoga classes. Business partners Blair Hahn, a recovering lawyer, and Tricia Hughey, a 25-year yoga teacher veteran, launched Yoga Daily in January 2018.

For the last seven-plus years, they have worked to create a strong yoga community that supports our Lowcountry residents in maintaining their well-being, not only on the mat, but in their everyday lives. Their primary mission is to provide a safe, clean and friendly haven for both new yogis and more experienced yogis.

All the hand-selected Yoga Daily teachers are skilled at meeting each yogi where they are. Teachers offer both well-thought-out classes and tailored classes to those who show up. Whether you prefer dynamic vinyasa flow, quiet yin or something in between, classes are smart, thoughtful and well-rounded. Everyone, regardless of lifestyle, age and skill level can find a place within the Yoga Daily community.

Yoga is a personal journey, but it can be practiced together in community, and many yogis find their way to the mat through different means. Hahn began his yoga journey at 50 when he was out for a run one hot August afternoon. The heat was just too much, and the running was too hard on his body, so he turned back and never went back. He tried the gym, but after injuring himself he decided that the gym wasn’t right for him either. After trying yoga, he decided it was just what he was looking for. On the other hand, Hughey came to yoga by being open to trying something new and loved the embodied experience.

What started as a desire to offer classes in a non-judgmental and non-dogmatic environment for all has turned Yoga Daily into a pillar in Mount Pleasant. For Hahn and Hughey, the studio is a calling and a way to serve the community. In almost eight years, they have carved a niche in the community, which they hope will continue to grow and flourish for decades to come.

Their current students vary in age from twentysomethings to 80-year-olds. There is a spot for everyone to unroll their mat, unwind their mind, move and breathe. They offer a variety of classes throughout the day, evenings and weekends, and are eager to help people discover that yoga serves all and provides myriad benefits regardless of chosen practice style. People from all walks and stages of life gather at the studio to enjoy each other’s company and uplift each other, all while gaining valuable physical and mental benefits.

In addition to classes, they provide workshops, sound baths, guest educators and teacher training. Both Hahn and Hughey are proud of how many people they have impacted over the years. Being part of someone’s life journey is such an honor and a privilege.
