Omar has been waiting patiently for his second chance since arriving at Pet Helpers as a stray in early October 2025. While we may never know all the chapters of Omar’s past, this handsome hound has clearly experienced some heartbreak along the way. He approaches new people with gentle caution – not out of fear, but because he cares. Omar loves deeply and wants to be sure his loyalty and affection is given to someone who is ready to reciprocate. Though it may take him some time to come out of his shell, once that trust is built, it’s game over. You’re officially his person.
Omar is laid-back and once he settles in, his shy exterior gives way to a truly shining personality. He is the kind of dog that prefers life in the slow lane. An ideal day would consist of several long naps, tasty treats and lots of belly rubs (which he considers non-negotiable by the way).
Omar would thrive best as the only pet in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention he deserves. More of a couch potato than a marathon runner, he is still always up for a walk around the neighborhood with his person before cuddling up for a cozy night in.
