People- watching opportunities abounding. Oh, and most importantly: decadent gelato. What more could I ask for when it comes to the good stuff? While I love the Fior di Latte (sweet cream) gelato, if I’m feeling something a little wild, I’ll try two of the rotating flavors — definitely something dark chocolatey and something either peanut buttery or raspberry- flavored — snuggled together in a waffle cone. _ ___________________________________ Name and Position: Jenny Harrison, Writer Favorite Ice Cream: Cappuccino Crunch at Izzy’s Scoops & Sweets Izzy’s Scoops & Sweets, located in The Shoppes at Seaside Farms off the Isle of Palms Connector, lures my family in every time we head home from a long day at the beach. While I never seem to venture far from the Cappuccino Crunch, my husband and daughters enjoy making their favorite ice cream of the day into a sundae with a cherry on top. _ ___________________________________ Name and Position: Ginger Sottile, Staff Accountant Favorite Ice Cream: Chocolate Malt Milkshake at Pitt Street Pharmacy Pitt Street Pharmacy makes their shakes by hand using vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and malt – and they make the best chocolate malt in Mount Pleasant. _ ___________________________________ Name and position: Katherine Waters, Writer Favorite Ice Cream: Caramel Pecan Sticky Buns at Jeni’s Ice Cream I stopped eating dairy a few years ago, but I probably eat ice cream more often now than I did before. Jeni’s has some of the best non-dairy ice cream I’ve tried, and their caramel pecan sticky buns flavor is even better than regular milk ice cream. lowcountry cuisine
