C & C Myers Heating &A/C

J

im Clark, owner of C & C myers

Heating & A/C, began his business as an

environmental consultant. His job was

to discover the source of mold, moisture

and other problems and recommend what

needed to be done to make life more

comfortable for people suffering from the

effects of allergens that had invaded their homes and

businesses. Unable to provide the

customer service he

felt his clients deserved, he expanded his

company by purchasing one heating and

air contractor and then another.

Today he owns the most reliable

heating and air conditioning company in

the area, according to the readers of

Mount

Pleasant Magazine.

In 2010, he bought

Myers Heating and Air Conditioning

from Tim Myers, who is still his service

manager. Three years later, he purchased C

& C Heat & Air, a 38-year-old company

with roots in East Cooper.

“The owner wanted to hand over his

customers to someone with integrity,

someone who would take care of them,”

Clark explained.

Clark and his 48 employees have

changed the heating and air conditioning industry in the

tri-county area.

When he started his first company, Environmental

Solutions and Service, he was tasked with “finding out what

was making people sick in homes and businesses.”

“We were getting referrals from ENT doctors,” he said.

“But when we found what the problems were and we asked

local mechanical contractors to help, the common response

‘We’ve never done it that way.’”

A board-certified indoor environmental consultant who

studied mechanical engineering at North Carolina State

University, Clark and his staff can now find the problems

that cause sneezing, coughing and other medical issues and

fix them as well.

“We test; we don’t guess. C & C Myers uses state-of-the

art high-tech equipment to test the home, solve problems

and offer real solutions with guaranteed results,” he said.

“It gets down to trust. We guarantee the solution. If it

doesn’t work, we’ll give you your money back,” Clark stated.

“It is our goal to make every customer happy, and we go the

extra mile to make that happen.”

Top-notch customer service and knowledge of heating,

air conditioning and building principles are important

aspects of C & C Myers’ success in the tri-county area, but

employees and their education also

are vital to the company’s continued

growth.

“We are huge into training,” Clark

explained. “We have internal training

twice a week. Tuesday is mechanical.

I do the training on Thursday,

everything from building science

principles to leadership and how to

handle your finances.”

“If I can help an employee be a

better person, he or she is going to

serve the community in a whole new

way,” he added. “If employees are

educated, appreciated and well-paid,

they’re going to deliver ‘wow’ service.”

Speaking of serving the

community, C & C Myers does its

share to support its friends and neighbors. For example,

following this year’s heavy rains, the company donated $100

of every flood victim’s system or duct replacement to the

Trident Flood Recovery Fund.

C & C Myers Heating & A/C, the only company

of its kind in the tri-county area with an environmental

consultant and an engineer on staff, has been recognized by

groups other than the readers of

Mount Pleasant Magazine.

This year, the company was cited by Inc. as one of the

fastest-growing companies in the country, and Bryant

Heating and Cooling Systems presented Myers with its

Medal of Excellence for customer satisfaction and sales for

finishing in the top five in the country.
