Art Buzz Kids, which accepts
campers in all age groups and those
with special needs, runs for eight
weeks, featuring fun that includes
art, pottery and many other projects.
There also are many outdoor
camps for your little adventurer, such
as The Naturalist Adventure Day
Camp, which runs weekly sessions for
children ages 6 through 12. Campers
are dropped off at Shem Creek, but
each day their adventure takes place
in an exciting new location.
“The first day is all about safety
and from there our campers get
to experience kayaking, canoeing,
paddleboarding and island explora-
tion,” said David Fink, manager of
the Naturalist Adventure Day Camp. “We only allow 14 children per session,
so they can fill up quickly each week.”
Regardless of which camp you think your kids might like, if you aren’t sure
about something, you should always ask the camp director about it, according
to Sternfeld.
“If it doesn’t feel right, then it probably isn’t. But when it is, your child will
learn values and create memories for a lifetime,” she said.
