Banish Those Pesky Pounds SkinnyMe Weight Loss Clinic

Posted by MPM Leave a Comment

From its humble beginning in the South Carolina upstate, SkinnyMe has quickly become one of the best known weight loss clinics, in the Palmetto state. Nancy Boulware, owner and CEO, turned her own struggles with weight, into a passion to help others become healthier, by shedding extra pounds.

“I had tried every diet imaginable and just couldn’t lose weight successfully. Once I learned about the hCG diet and did it, I was convinced that it is the best and most effective diet around” states Nancy. “Weight gained during pregnancies was stubborn and difficult to lose. I was introduced to the diet from a friend of mine and she looked fabulous! “I successfully completed the diet myself, and have kept the weight off for years” she adds.

This lead to the formation of two very well known and reputable weight loss clinics.

The hCG diet is not a new diet. First discovered by Dr. Simeons in the fifties, this hormone based diet has helped thousands achieve sustained weight loss and allow them to lead healthier lives. HCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin, is the hormone made by the placenta during pregnancy, and is responsible for maintaining a viable pregnancy. When the hormone is taken in a small amount along with a low-calorie diet, stored fat is converted into an additional source of nutrition but is eliminated from the body. Visceral fat that develops around the internal organs and the mid-section and is associated with health risks such as diabetes, hypertension and coronary artery disease. This type of fat is preferentially reduced with this diet.

Richard Boulware, PA-C is the medical provider for SkinnyMe’s Mount Pleasant location. He is a Physician Assistant with previous experience in cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology and internal medicine. He knows firsthand the risks associated with obesity and has committed a full-time career to help others achieve healthier lifestyles.

“Many medical conditions are linked to obesity and it is a national epidemic. It is very beneficial to keep excess weight off to prevent becoming another national statistic” he states.

As a board-certified practitioner in anti-aging and regenerative medicine, Richard can evaluate patients for possible hormone imbalance that may be contributing to weight issues, and symptoms of menopause, as well as andropause which is the male equivalent of menopause.

The hCG diet is one of several diets offered at SkinnyMe. They also offer aesthetics including Botox, Belotero, Juvaderm and Radiesse. They are also a PRP clinic which offers the Vampire procedures including Vampire Facelift, Vampire Facial and the O-Shot. Facial skin lift is also offered using Ultherapy which is an FDA approved procedure that lifts and tightens the skin on the brow, cheek and neck. It is a great alternative for those who do not want to have surgery.

SkinnyMe is located at 1459 Stuart Engals Blvd. Suite 202 in Mount Pleasant. They will also be at the Southern Women’’ show September 20-23 at the Charleston Convention Center.
