Twenty years ago, I’On Club opened its doors to support a unique urban housing development by the same name. With a desire to serve members by the highest standards and provide a variety of amenities, the club has found the perfect combination to appeal to the I’On neighborhood and beyond — lifestyle, wellness, tennis, aquatics and culinary.

Since its inception, the I’On Club team has worked hard to evolve its amenities and provide members the best experience possible.
“I’On Club is the only athletic club in the area featuring seven clay tennis courts, three swimming pools, four full-service fitness and wellness areas, and a soon-to-be renovated executive chef-led restaurant,” explained Chad Besenfelder, the club’s new co-owner.
One service that the club is most known for, and most proud to offer to adults and children, is swim lessons — starting at a beginner level and going up to master. Some swimmers are also offered competition-level training. The aquatics activities are open year-round so that members can take advantage of lessons throughout the year. Additionally, I’On Club has a highly regarded adult lounge and pool area.
I’On Club members were recently introduced to new owners Vince Graham and Besenfelder. Both have been involved with the development of I’On Club. The team’s goal is simple, said Besenfelder, “Raise the bar at every level: member service, presentation and experience, architecture and amenities. Every detail will be elevated to much higher standards.”
With renovated and reimagined areas, Besenfelder and the team believe that the experience will be enhanced. “It is truly a perfect time to be a member at I’On Club,” Besenfelder said. “We are confident that our members, both present and future, will be proud of our next 20 years.”
I’On Club is located at 580 Mathis Ferry Rd, Mount Pleasant, for more information visit them at www.theionclub.com.
