Why would readers of Mount Pleasant Magazine vote SOL Southwest Kitchen one of the “Best Taco” spots in town? For starters, there’s the flank steak with caramelized onions, fresh jalapeños, sour cream and shredded lettuce wrapped in a corn, flour or whole grain tortilla. Another reason is the grilled citrus marinated shrimp tacos garnished with salsa fresca, shredded lettuce and tequila-lime crema. Our readers also expressed love for SOL’s tuna, chicken, carnitas pork and roasted vegetable tacos. All are mouthwatering and served with black beans and rice and can be complemented with one of SOL’s premium margaritas, 16 craft beers, hand-selected wines or a variety of spirits.
Taco Tuesday also probably contributed to the win. On Tuesdays, for lunch or dinner, SOL offers even more varieties of tacos that are all just $3 each. To kick it into overdrive, just-juiced margaritas are only $4.
Not only is SOL great at making delicious tacos and drinks, they have been a local favorite since 2013 because their entire menu is award worthy. The family-friendly establishment features indoor and outdoor dining, food with bold Southwest flavors and a top-notch bar menu seven days a week, lunch and dinner, plus Sunday brunch.
SOL is also dedicated to making our community better through their Kitchen Karma program, where $1 from the sale of featured menu items and cocktails are donated to charities right here in our community. In all, SOL has given over $70,000 to more than 30 local nonprofits. “It’s an honor to work with many wonderful groups that make such a difference,” said David Clark, one of the three owners of SOL. All three owners live in Mount Pleasant and are proud that 100% of the money stays local.
