When Dr. Eddie White opened his dental practice in 1998, he had every intention of breaking the mold, the crown, the common dreaded dental chair visit and, above all, the stereotype of where a dental workplace should be and how it should feel.
He built his office on the far edge of the wilderness called Awendaw, named it Sewee after a Native American tribe, and people have been coming ever since to see Dr. Eddie and his crew for dental visits that are as close as they come to being fun.
“My dad and I like making sure our patients are involved in and completely understanding of their dental care,” said Ivy White, a partner with her dad in the practice since 2021. “We enjoy being the primary care destination in an industry that can be at times confusing and intimidating to the consumer.”
When you hear or see their tag line, “We like your natural smile,” it’s not just a made-up slogan. It’s indicative of why Sewee Dental continues to be regarded by their patients year after year as one of Mount Pleasant’s best dental practices.
