Choosing the perfect childcare facility to trust with your little one is no simple task, but Children’s Discovery Center, with locations in Park West and on Venning Road, makes it easier. Children and parents are welcomed as family and the Center serves as an extension of home.
Executive Director Katie Carter is a founding member of the Center whose own daughter was one of its first students. What started as a 40-student group grew within four months to 170 children. By 2015, two locations were available to serve families in the Mount Pleasant and greater Charleston areas.
Carter’s strong leadership and attention to detail were learned from the best. The Center’s original owner encouraged team members to mark their work with excellence. Her motto? “Whatever you do, give it your best.”
“It’s what made me who I am,” said Carter.
Every teacher and staff member at the Center greets each student with a warm smile, hug or gesture to build and nurture trusting relationships. The Center provides a Christ-centered learning environment and welcomes families from all cultural backgrounds. Its foundational goal remains to ensure every student leaves their program confident and well-prepared for kindergarten and beyond.
