The 53rd Annual Scottish Games and Highland Gathering, organized by the Scottish Society of Charleston, celebrates the rich history and culture of Scotland with an incredible lineup of events ranging from athletics to live music. Thrill at competitions of athletic prowess, musical skill on the legendary bagpipes and the beauty of highland dance.

Come celebrate the 11th year and our most action-packed festival yet. Includes a Classic Car & Vintage Bike Show, live music from national and regional acts on over four outdoor stages, contests including pinup, tattoo and beard and mustache, and a vendor market with over 90 vendors.
HOLY SMOKES BBQ FEST
When: 11/9
Where: Riverfront Park
With over 50 of the country’s most talented pitmasters and chefs, this gathering celebrates the culture, history and traditions of American barbecue. Enjoy dishes such as slow-smoked whole hog, pork and beef ribs, Texas-style brisket, smoked and grilled Lowcountry seafood staples and more.
CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL
When: 11/23-11/24
Where: Boone Hall Farms
This event kicks off the holiday season at Boone Hall. Attendees can ride the Holiday Ferris Wheel, create Christmas crafts and decorations, roast marshmallows, decorate Christmas cookies, take fun pics in the photo booth, savor sweet holiday treats, visit with live Winter Queen characters and of course—visit with Santa.
TURKEY DAY RUN
When: 11/28 at 9 a.m.
Where: Marion Square
The annual Turkey Day Run & Gobble Wobble is a U.S. Track & Field certified 5K race that winds through historic downtown Charleston and out to the peninsula.

HOLIDAY STREET FESTIVAL
When: 12/7 from 2-7 p.m.
Where: Front Beach, Isle of Palms
The Holiday Street Festival will feature arts and crafts, food vendors, children’s activities, live entertainment and a visit from Santa.
REINDEER RUN
When: 12/14 at 8 a.m.
Where: 137 N. Market St., Charleston
Half-Moon Outfitters Reindeer Run, presented by The Charleston Place, is a family-oriented, pet-friendly 5K run/ walk located in downtown Charleston. Includes a costume contest, so be sure to dress in your festive best for the race. Proceeds benefit the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.
MOUNT PLEASANT HOLIDAY MARKET & CRAFT SHOW
When: 12/14 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Mount Pleasant Farmers Market Pavilion
The annual Holiday Market & Craft Show combines all the goodies from our traditional food market such as locally-grown fresh produce, baked goods, hot food and homemade preserves with handcrafted gifts created by local artisans. Peruse this year’s wonderful assortment of Christmas ornaments, glass work, whimsical crafts and a wide variety of original art by locally recognized potters, artists, craftsmen and photographers. Admission and parking are free.
TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT CHRISTMAS LIGHTS PARADE
When: 12/15 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: West Coleman Boulevard
Brilliantly lit floats and community groups will march up West Coleman Boulevard as the community ignites holiday spirit at the 29th Annual Mount Pleasant Christmas Lights Parade. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a spectacular fireworks show, followed by the parade start at Live Oak Drive, travelling south and ending at the intersection of West Coleman Boulevard and Patriots Point Road.
CHARLESTON WONDERLAND NEW YEAR’S EVE
When: 12/31 from 8:30 p.m.-1 a.m.
Where: Festival Hall
Charleston Wonderland features incredible live bands and DJs, an all-inclusive Wonderland Bar, cirque performers and variety acts and state-of-the-art A/V. From a champagne toast with Charleston’s largest balloon drop at midnight, photo booths, a cigar bar and other surprises.
