East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) is celebrating 35 years of impact, delivering help and hope to local neighbors in our community experiencing financial hardship. Since its founding in 1989, ECCO has been a pillar of support, providing essential services to individuals and families in their time of need.
With a newly-renovated campus that will open this summer, ECCO is not only celebrating its past achievements, but also looking ahead to the future of the organization. The team remains committed to its motto of “neighbors helping neighbors,” ensuring that no one in the community has to face hardships alone.
ECCO offers a variety of services including a food pantry, dental and medical clinics, a clothing closet, financial assistance and more. Beyond immediate relief, ECCO helps families find stability and opportunity, strengthening the entire community.
“Receiving the 2025 Best Nonprofit award is more than an honor — it’s a powerful reflection of our community’s belief in ECCO’s mission and its compassion for our neighbors,” said Don Squires, ECCO’s director of development and marketing.
Neighbors helping neighbors is more than just a motto at ECCO, it’s about being a place where neighbors can find help, but also an organization that creates opportunities for neighbors to give back. Volunteers, donors and partners make this work possible, ensuring that ECCO can continue its mission for another 35 years and beyond.
