As a small local business, being recognized as Best Dog Trainer by Mount Pleasant Magazine is truly an honor for Poseidon K9. There was a lot of competition and to be voted the winner is a testament to the hard work they put into every dog they train and the relationship they build with every owner. Poseidon K9’s training philosophies are making a real difference to dogs across the Lowcountry.
Owner Jilian Daniel said that the most rewarding part of the job is seeing the relationship between the dogs and their owners blossom. There’s something magical when that “aha” moment happens, when the dog truly understands what’s being asked and the bond between the two grows stronger. Being able to facilitate communication, teamwork and synergy is what makes her work so fulfilling.
Daniel’s always had a deep love for animals and her journey into dog training started with that passion. She initially pursued a career in marine biology, but her interest in animal behavior and psychology led her to uncovering what makes dogs “tick” and how to use that to motivate them for service work, protection, detection and general obedience.
What sets Poseidon K9 apart from others in their industry is their “quality-over-quantity” approach. They limit the number of dogs they take on so that each dog gets the individual attention they deserve. This isn’t a cookie cutter service; they tailor their training to fit the unique needs of each dog and their owner.
