Rug’d Training started with the goal of providing people means to a healthier lifestyle through education, nutrition and exercise. Owner and personal trainer Sean Sheppard offers training that emphasizes strength, injury prevention and overall performance and guidance with nutrition and recovery so each client can reach their full potential.
Training is tailored around each person and their goals, whether that be fat loss, toning, athletic performance and so forth. Sheppard works with everyone from athletes to people recovering from injuries and everyday people in between, helping clients create a plan and develop long-lasting habits to empower them. After spending 10 years in the Air Force and his children growing up to lead active lives, Sheppard opened his facility to aid people looking to make healthy changes to their lives. The emphasis is not on aesthetics, but on creating a foundation for sustainable strength through healthier habits and longevity.
For new clients, there will always be an initial consultation to discuss their goals and past injuries. Next, Sheppard assesses their movement patterns to look at each individual’s strengths and weaknesses. Based on this consultation, a customized plan is formed, considering lifestyle and fitness level as well. For each visit, progress is tracked and rather than reps, movement patterns are instead time-based to allow for intensity control and a proper form. Adjustments are made accordingly, so that by the time a client reaches their end goal, they’ll feel better and stronger and be equipped with the knowledge to sustain their new routine.
