Before becoming a professional pet groomer, Liz Martin of The Posh Pet Salon & Spa was a family law attorney. During her time handling divorces and custody battles, she realized that even when clients “won,” their lives were still in turmoil. Seeking a career that could bring joy and relief, she turned to her lifelong love of animals. Growing up showing cocker spaniels and working for professional dog handlers, Martin always had a passion for canines. Despite her law career, she returned to showing dogs on weekends, specializing in Pomeranians. This rekindled passion led her to pursue a career in pet grooming, a profession she knew would be both fulfilling and enjoyable. The Posh Pet Salon & Spa was born.
What sets Martin’s grooming salon apart is the level of care and luxury it offers. The salon features standard services such as bathing, trimming and nails but also offers in-house, certified canine massage therapists to help pets with mobility issues, pain or simply to pamper them. In addition, the shop offers a hydro-ozone spa bath, which is particularly beneficial for pets suffering from skin conditions like alopecia, eczema and allergies. The ozonated water helps to improve blood flow, reduce inflammation and alleviate pain.
When it comes to grooming cats, the approach differs. Cats are independent and may tolerate grooming only for short periods. The grooming team takes special care to ensure a stress-free experience, often taking breaks to ensure the cat feels safe and relaxed.
A luxury experience for you and your furry family member was her aim when she opened the shop. Come let Martin and her staff at The Posh Pet Salon & Spa make your fur baby look and feel their absolute best.
