Since Mount Pleasant mom and working professional Annie Vola opened the doors to her shop Annie’s Hot Donuts over eight years ago, the establishment has served locals and visitors with a wide variety of fresh made-to-order hot donuts that are prepared with high-quality ingredients. From classic favorites to creative twists that are exclusive to Annie’s, every sweet treat is made fresh and packed with charm.
As a consistent earner of a Best Of award, Vola credits the win to her staff, who have been with the company for many years. “Our team members have created a magical vibe that’s like being at Disneyland where everyone’s happy,” she said. Vola added that her 16-year-old son Grant, who is also part of the team, works at the counter greeting people, ringing up customers and cleaning up.
Another element that sets Annie’s apart is the upstairs party room. “Kids love our ‘Create Your Own’ donut activity, refreshing milk and awesome play zone with toys, games, video games, a play kitchen, chalkboard wall, basketball hoop, reading area and giant Connect 4,” Vola said.
Local teenage regular Sophie Rose also recommended Annie’s donuts because “They are yummy and have really good toppings.”
