Crafthouse North may still be the new kid in North Mount Pleasant, but it hasnβt taken long for people to notice it. For owners Tessa and Todd Miller, hearing they were nominated β and even tied β for Best Of was one of those moments that makes all the long hours feel worth it. βWeβve only been open seven months, so to be recognized already, especially for takeout and happy hour, really surprised us,β Todd said. βWe put a lot of thought into those menus. Everyone loves a good deal, and we want people to feel like they can just drop in and try us out.β
The idea actually started with Tessa. After moving from Michigan in 2019, she brought years of front-of-house experience into a community that was growing faster than its options. Living near Indigo Reef Brewing, they noticed the Clements Ferry Road area needed more neighborhood hangout spots. They opened their first location, Community Crafthouse, in 2023 with the Carolina Park Boulevard location to follow in May 2025.
The easygoing atmosphere is what keeps folks coming back. You walk in, order at the bar and settle into a space that feels relaxed and friendly. The staff genuinely enjoys getting to know customers and building relationships. They use community feedback to inform decisions and grow the space.
A deep connection to the community means hiring Wando High School students and staff while also supporting school programs. They work with a variety of charities as well and host events for them often. Trivia, karaoke and music bingo are just a few of the entertainment offerings. They hope more Mount Pleasant residents will take a chance and see what Crafthouse North is all about.
