Southern Belles childrenβs clothing store has grown in ways its owner never expected. It began simply with sewing childrenβs outfits at home, packing up the car and heading to markets and fundraisers. After a few years on the road, Susie Molony wanted something more permanent, a place where families could come to her instead of catching her at events. Thatβs how the storefront came to life.
Being nominated Best Of by customers still feels personal. Every vote and familiar face is a reminder that people choose to show up, and thatβs something she never takes lightly.
Retail has changed a lot, and Southern Belles has changed with it. Thereβs no single way to reach shoppers anymore, but kindness at the door still matters most. A warm greeting, real help when someone needs it and small touches, like complimentary gift wrapping, monogramming and shipping, go a long way.
The store has become a true βone-stop fun shop,β with everything from baby layette to tween clothing and accessories. Suite J, the section for fashionable girlsβ sizes 7-16, has become especially loved. They carry exclusive lines like Pleat & Joyous, Free and Johnnie-O for boys, with a new boysβ line, Finn, arriving spring 2026.
Southern Belles continues to support local schools, arts programs and authors. With its website, social media and rewards program, staying connected has never been easier. Through it all, the goal remains the same: to make customers who visit their store feel welcome and happy.
