Jeremy Ellisor, Founder and Lead Advisor of Convergent Financial Group

It is often said that a goal without a plan is just a wish. In life, there are always big goals ahead – your kids’ college, weddings, a dream trip, retirement – and while you have some investments or a 401K that may or may not be on track, do you have a plan in place to be able to afford them when those goals become a reality?

Convergent Financial Group makes it easier to plan for your life.

“People want to do a lot of big things financially, but they’re not sure where to start. They’re in their 40s or early 50s and are successful and busy, and they don’t have time to make it a priority and connect all the pieces to know how to reach their goals,” explained Jeremy Ellisor, founder and lead advisor of Convergent Financial Group. “We make it easier, and say ‘here’s where you really are; here’s what you need to do,’ and we are there every step of the way.”

Ellisor and his team are changing the norm of stacks of reports that go unread and unused and are committed to continuing to monitor all of your finances’ moving parts and pieces to keep you on track.

Financial Advice for Ordinary People

“Your financial life and the factors that influence it are always changing, so the ‘five-year plan’ simply doesn’t work,” said Ellisor. “You may be making less income than usual or receive a bonus you weren’t expecting and want to know how to allocate it. You may want to discuss the best way to pay down your debt. If you question whether you should refinance or sell property or buy property, we are always available to walk you through the options.”

Convergent makes the process as easy as possible. You are given access to a secure client portal where you can pre-load your accounts, bringing your financial data into one private, virtual vault. Then they meet with you to discuss the information in detail, from your present situation to future goals, and offer solutions to meet those goals: retirement planning, debt optimization, insurance, investments, savings and any other areas you may need. They continue monitoring your portfolio and schedule regular follow-ups to discuss any progress or changes.

To make things even more convenient, all meetings can be held face-to-face or by a video call. In fact, whether in person or by video, the team at Convergent enjoys a relaxed, business casual atmosphere.

“Finances are so personal. The last thing anyone needs is some stuffy guy in a suit and tie looking down his nose at them,” said Ellisor. “One of the biggest barriers to people getting financial advice is that they are embarrassed – they’re afraid that they are behind their peers or that they haven’t done or saved enough, and they have this notion that they can wait until they ‘get it together’ and then get help. In every way, we want to be approachable and accessible so that people are comfortable baring themselves financially.”

Ellisor, who has seen the gamut of financial situations, said most people are more in line with their peers than they realize. If they are in fact behind, he recommended seeing someone sooner rather than later to get things on track.

“We focus on simplicity and client convenience, and, ultimately, we want your future and the future of your family to be secure. We take the time to bring the scattered pieces of your finances together and work to focus on the variables you can control so that you can turn your goals into reality,” said Ellisor.
