The mark of a successful business is customer loyalty. And East Cooper Auto Pros clearly has that in spades, placing second in the Best Auto- Repair Business category, according to the readers of Mount Pleasant Magazine.
Not only does the automotive-repair and servicing business see the same customers bringing in their vehicles in on a regular basis – these customers often refer their children and other family members to East Cooper Auto Pros.
“It’s a generational thing with some families,” said Manager Bob McCormack. “We see children of regular customers bringing their vehicles to us when they get old enough to own a car. When customers come to us, they see the same people each time they visit, and that builds a brand loyalty. We offer great service, honesty and we prioritize repairs. Just because a vehicle may need several things done doesn’t mean the customer has to do them all at the same time. We let them make the decision.”
Rev. Steve Wood, pastor of the St. Andrew’s Church in Mount Pleasant, has been taking his vehicles to East Cooper Auto Pros for almost 20 years.
“When we moved to Mount Pleasant 19 years ago, a friend recommended that I take my car to East Cooper Auto Pros. They have first-rate mechanics, first-rate people really and treat you like family. My wife and I have four boys, and I began to take their cars to East Cooper for service and repairs. They watched my kids grow up.”
He added, “You see the same people at East Cooper Auto Pros. At the bigger repair shops, there is such a high turnover. You really get to know the people at East Cooper, and that builds trust.”
Mikell Murray is another longtime loyal customer of 10 years. After looking for the right place to take his car for an oil change, he found East Cooper Auto Pros and never left – and his family also trusts the shop’s workmanship and credibility. His mother-in-law and children take their cars there as well.
“Bob McCormick and I have a great relationship, and it’s easy to make appointments and get your car back in a timely fashion,” Murray stated.
Indeed, East Cooper Auto Pros, owned by Willie and Chrissie Hopkins and launched in 1994, prides itself on the element of customer service.
“We get our customers in and out as fast as possible, and their cars don’t sit around waiting to be worked on,” said McCormack.
East Cooper Auto Pros, which has five mechanics on duty, works on foreign and domestic vehicles, although it may call in a specialist or refer a customer to a dealer for certain repairs or servicing for European vehicles.
“One of our big advantages we have is that we are an official NAPA Auto Care Center,” explained McCormack. “Our work comes with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty that gives the customer further peace of mind.”
The services offered at East Cooper Auto Pros, which feature state-of-the-art computer-diagnostic capabilities, run the gamut from oil changes to complete tuneups.
