Wine Under the Oaks at Boone Hall Plantation 2019

Posted by MPM Leave a Comment

Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens: photo of a glass of wine with the Boone Hall logo
Boone Hall Plantation’s back lawn is a beautiful place to spend a winter afternoon. The oaks and the lawn running down to the bend in Horlbeck Creek are wonderful on their own, but if you’re lucky and get yourself a ticket to Wine Under the Oaks on Dec. 8, you’ll be able to add a spectacular festival of wine, gourmet bites and musical headliner saxophonist David Sanborn to your winter Sunday.

One of Boone Hall’s signature events, this year’s Wine Under the Oaks promises to continue its tradition of excellence – a lovely rosé-for-the-holidays tent, holiday cooking demonstrations and at least a dozen local artists – while bringing some fabulous new additions to the event, especially the sparkle of a champagne and oysters tent, and the French feel of a pinot and patisserie tent.

This year’s celebration features the return of an old favorite: the silent auction. In support of McClellanville’s popular Village Museum, this year’s silent auction will be held in the Authors Village and will feature everything from golf and spa packages to local restaurant tastings to a Cotton Dock package. The biddable items look fabulous!

The variety of tents, each focusing on a theme or pleasure, will allow visitors to enjoy the experience of exploring their palates as they choose from over 150 wines with many food pairings. Visitors will also find that Wine Under the Oaks provides a terrific opportunity to stock up on holiday wines – or buy that perfect bottle as a gift – for reduced prices.

Because Wine Under the Oaks also brings in local artists, authors and specialty vendors, visitors will find everything from favorites like sweetgrass baskets to intriguingly beautiful jewelry to wonderful and eclectic paintings.

A dozen or more local restaurants will be on hand, featuring menu favorites at reduced prices.

This adults-only (must be 21), rain or shine boutique event sells out every year, and is well on its way to selling out again. VIP tables for eight are already gone, with a limited number of individual tickets still remaining. While there’s a slight chance that a few tickets may be available at the gate, the odds are not good, so be prepared – get your tickets while you can!

Your $75 ticket gives you access to this beautiful arts and culture event, complete with complementary wines and foods, plus access to specially-priced bottles and one-of-a-kind gifts. As a signature event for Boone Hall Plantation, this year’s Wine Under the Oaks promises a wonderful array of tastes, scents, sights and sounds.

Boone Hall’s Wine Under the Oaks will be held Dec. 8, 1-5 p.m. at 1235 Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant. Tickets can be purchased at boonehallplantation.com/special-events/wine-under-the-oaks/. No coolers, pets, tents, outside food, drinks or concealed weapons allowed.
