Charleston Men’s Clinic: The Best Place for Men to Talk Candidly About Their Health

Posted by MPM Leave a Comment

Charleston Men's ClinicTeam
Looking after one’s physical and mental well-being is paramount, though when it comes to health and personal issues, men are often hesitant to seek advice. But preventative medicine is the key to a bright, healthy future.

Dr. Stuart Markovitz and his all-male staff encourage you to visit their office for help not only with existing issues, but to take proactive steps in preventing potential issues. They have created a comfortable environment for men to have honest conversations with specialists and identify the real issues. Often those difficult conversations center around overall low energy that culminate in concerns about sexual health.

Low Testosterone:

Testosterone is a hormone that plays important roles for men such as regulating sex drive, bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass, memory, focus, mood and the production of red blood cells and sperm. Testosterone levels have substantially dropped in U.S. men since the 1980s, and more than 40% of men have below optimal levels. “Some guys don’t connect the dots to see that their testosterone is low,” stated CMC lab manager Jeremy Gray.

The first thing a man should do is get a baseline of his testosterone level. Levels naturally decrease as a man ages, so it’s beneficial to know the levels when still feeling fine so there is something to compare it to later.

Optimizing Sexual Performance:

Erectile dysfunction can be an embarrassing subject to broach, but there are ways to avoid it and reverse its severity. Many men turn to pills like Viagra or Cialis as a temporary fix for their bedroom issues, not realizing there are other alternatives. Dr. Markovitz cautioned, “ED is a progressive disorder and worsens over time. So, frequently you require increasing dosages of medication, and eventually these medications fall short of providing the desired result anymore.”

Charleston Men’s Clinic was the first to bring GAINSWave, a revolutionary technology in helping prevent and treat ED, to South Carolina. A main cause of erectile dysfunction is lack of blood flow. GAINSWave utilizes high-frequency, low-intensity sound waves to improve blood flow, remove micro-plaque and stimulate growth of new blood vessels. The non-invasive procedure uses a specific protocol designed to optimize efficacy, safety and results.

Gray has performed the procedure over 3,000 times. “If you have a family history of diabetes and high cholesterol, you are going to have vascular problems. The likelihood of you having ED is great,” he explained.

Charleston Men’s Clinic and informational sessions on GAINSWave are great places to start before a problem occurs. Men all over Mount Pleasant have endorsed CMC as the best in the business.
