The Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce (MPCC) has officially opened the doors to its first Mount Pleasant headquarters, marking an exciting milestone in the organization’s growth and service to the local business community. Chamber officials, local leaders and members of the Mount Pleasant community gathered this fall for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new office located at 534 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Suite 101.
Several town figures were in attendance, including Chamber President Kathleen Herrmann, Pinnacle Financial Partners Regional President Mary Garcia and Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie. The chamber’s leadership team, ambassadors and numerous members were also present to acknowledge this significant occasion.
Founded in 1992, the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce has served as an avenue for bringing together business leaders throughout the Mount Pleasant community. The organization has been a respected resource for local businesses, providing networking opportunities, educational programs and business advocacy.
Until now, the chamber had functioned without a physical office, operating through virtual meetings and community partnerships. “The new office space will allow the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce to be a resource for our business community. We plan on offering programs and events to meet our mission of encouraging business and community success east of the Cooper. It also gives our MPCC members a space to gather and network with member events such as Speed Networking. We plan on events to feature our members that are in the nonprofit community who are always giving back to make Mount Pleasant and the surrounding East Cooper community such a wonderful place to live,” said MPCC Director Rebecca Imholz.
The headquarters, in partnership with Pinnacle Financial Partners, will be a central hub for chamber events, board meetings and committee gatherings. Comen emphasized the chamber’s gratitude by expressing that they are fortunate that Pinnacle Financial Partners has leased the 1,500-square-foot space at an affordable rate. “They are a financial institution that truly values giving back to the community. We are located near the foot of the Ravenel Bridge and in close proximity to Mount Pleasant Town Hall, so it is very convenient for folks to stop by and visit,” said Comen.
The best part about the new office space is that it represents a significant milestone for the chamber, marking a new era of growth highlighted by increasing membership and involvement in recent years.
