The Hunnicutt Team: Your Coast of Carolina Experts

Posted by MPM Leave a Comment

Ed Hunnicutt of the Hunnicutt Team at Carolina One Real Estate
Ed Hunnicutt said the best part about working in real estate is being able to work with people.

Ed Hunnicutt of the Hunnicutt Team at Carolina One Real Estate said that the best part about working in real estate is being able to work with people.

“I love working with different people, and I love helping them with one of the biggest decisions they make in their lives,” Hunnicutt said. “Whether it is for a $50,000 parcel of land or a $5 million beachfront property, we have their best interests at heart when it comes to real estate.”

That’s why the readers of Mount Pleasant Magazine named the Hunnicutt Team the best real estate team in Mount Pleasant. It’s that personal touch that sets them apart from the rest. For Ed Hunnicutt, just living in the area was an ambition he strived to achieve for many years.

He moved to the Lowcountry from Nashville, where he was pursuing a music career, 25 years ago.

“My brother actually lived here then, and I loved visiting the area,” he said. “With my music career, I would travel all over the country, but Charleston was my favorite place to visit.”

He actually wrote a song called “The Coast of Carolina,” where he described how things like the changing tides, rustling palms and beautiful sunsets made him never want to leave the area. And once he did move here in 1992 – to become a Realtor and work with his brother in real estate – the rest was history.

As Hunnicutt’s business grew, he asked his wife, Cathy, to join him in 2001. She was a registered nurse then but quit to help him with marketing and promotions, which she did for the music industry in Nashville when they met.

“She had a leg up with branding and marketing because she did so many creative campaigns back in Nashville for the record companies,” Hunnicutt said.

Together they built the great real estate team they have today.

Hunnicutt predicted that the market in the Mount Pleasant area will stay steady. He is hoping for more inventory in early 2018, which will help to keep prices reasonable.

“The real estate market in the area is fueled by the great economy and all the wonderful new businesses we have coming here,” he said.

The Hunnicutt Team consists of five members, all Mount Pleasant residents and all personally invested in the community. Their son, Matt, is part of the team and brings along his expertise in technology. GeorgieAnn Hoerner is the buyer agent for the team and offers exceptional market knowledge and negotiation skills. Sandra Patrick is the transaction coordinator. The Hunnicutt Team not only works in Mount Pleasant but throughout the Charleston area. Their specialty, however, is Mount Pleasant – the city they all call home.

When asked what he loves best about the area, Hunnicutt replied, “I love everything – the lifestyle, the people, being able to work in a job I love. Since moving here, I have adopted the phrase, ‘Why go anywhere when you’re already there?’”

“I’m going back to the Coast of Carolina,
Where the sea meets tall pines on sandy islands;
Rustling palm leaves sing while moonlight dances on
the breeze,
I’ll ease my mind on the Coast of Carolina.”

from “The Coast of Carolina” by Ed Hunnicutt
