Dr. Bodkin of The Vision Center at Seaside Farms Has a Vision For Mount Pleasant

Posted by MPM Leave a Comment

The Vision Center at Seaside Farms, Mount Pleasant SC
Sight is such an integral part of the human experience; we encounter so much of life’s joy through our eyes. However, few do as much for the health of the eyes as Dr. Brad Bodkin and his clinic, The Vision Center at Seaside Farms.

Though a native of Collinsville, Virginia, Dr. Bodkin is thrilled to call Mount Pleasant his home for the past 12 years. “What’s not to love? There is a great sense of community here in Mount Pleasant with the residents truly caring about where they live, and the area is gorgeous,” said Dr. Bodkin, who along with his wife and two children, moved to our charming city for “the weather and the lifestyle.”

“Our amazing patients have helped us grow into one of the largest practices in Mount Pleasant, which has allowed us to open our new larger, state-of-the-art facility,” said Dr. Bodkin.

The facility has enabled even more success and efficacy for Dr. Bodkin and his colleagues. In every regard, it is a propulsion forward from the old building, beginning with its location, now at the end of the block from where they were originally located — a more prominent location on the corner as you turn into the Target parking lot.

Dr. Bodkin indicated the value of a more cutting-edge building, specifically detailing two prime examples. “The use of an electronic phoropter allows us to be more efficient when determining a patient’s prescription and allows us to compare seamlessly to their previous prescription. Second, we have two machines that give us a very detailed and comprehensive look at the health of a person’s eyes.”

Additionally, Dr. Bodkin noted that the larger space has allowed him and his team to do so much more, and will offer them the chance to continue making improvements, and hopefully improving the experience and making it “enjoyable”— a word you may not normally use when discussing eye clinics.

The word, however, is a staple of Dr. Bodkin’s practice at The Vision Center at Seaside Farms, and making experiences more enjoyable for patients is what they set out to do when they opened 10 years ago.

“We tried to look at every aspect of the experience and determine how we could make it better,” Dr. Bodkin said. “A few of the things we have implemented over the years include direct online scheduling, comfortable waiting areas with complimentary beverages and technology that can defer the need for dilation in some instances.”

Having been voted Best Optometry Practice, it’s obvious the profound impression Dr. Bodkin and The Vision Center at Seaside Farms have had on the lives of so many residents.

The impact has been reciprocal. Dr. Bodkin said, “We are truly thankful for our amazing patients. They are the reason we love what we do, and we are very honored by the appreciation they show us by voting us the best vision center year after year!”
