What is it like working with the Mount Pleasant community?
We are so blessed to live and work in such a wonderful community. Seeing Mount Pleasant grow over the years and how the community has supported Copper Penny is amazing. We get to know our customers and have established many long-term relationships. Copper Penny believes in the importance of giving back to the community that has supported our businesses for 35 years.
What is your most popular item for sale?
Copper Penny offers upscale ladies’ designer clothing, shoes, accessories and gifts. We pride ourselves on customer service and fashion expertise. We offer complimentary same-day local delivery and private shopping with one of our stylists, along with approval boxes for customers to try on in the privacy of their own home.
What are some challenges that you’ve overcome?
Owning your own business is a challenge in many ways but can also be rewarding. As an entrepreneur, you are a risk-taker, and you must accept that. I had breast cancer in 2000, and thanks to the scientists and doctors, I have been healthy for the last 21 years. Copper Penny thankfully made it through the crash in 2007 and the pandemic in 2020. We are blessed to have dressed Mount Pleasant moms, daughters and granddaughters for 35 years, and we look forward to doing the same for years to come.
