Attention parrotheads, hold your salt shakers and limes because Margaritaville will have to wait. Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band have canceled Saturday’s concert on Daniel Island amid the lead singer’s recent health problems that led to hospitalization.
The cancellation was announced Thursday morning on social media by the host venue Credit One Stadium. A rescheduled date has not been released at this time.
In Buffett’s message to his fans, he disclosed that a recent check-up following his West Coast tour led to addressing issues that needed “immediate attention.”
“Growing old is not for sissies, I promise you,” Buffett shared in a Facebook post. “I also will promise you, that when I am well enough to perform, that is what I’ll be doing in the land of She-Crab soup. You all make my life more meaningful and fulfilled than I would have ever imagined as a toe headed little boy sitting on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts, your amazing years of loyalty, and just remember, ‘NOT YET!’”
The concert site confirmed that all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date. More information will be emailed directly to ticket holders.
