Having trained at Vidal Sassoon in London, Alexandria Watson, owner of Salon Alexandria, has been styling hair for 24 years. Over the past two decades, Watson and her team of incredible stylists have set the standard for gorgeous hair by making color dreams, such as lived-in blondes, glossy brunettes or rich auburns, a reality for their clients. The color-forward and extension specialized salon, which has won the Best Of Mount Pleasant award many times in the past 18 years of business, is expanding to a second location in Moultrie Plaza on Coleman Boulevard this July. Convenient to South Mount Pleasant and downtown, the new location will have the same laid back yet high-end aesthetic as the North Mount Pleasant salon, according to Watson.
The key factors to Salon Alexandria’s success, Watson said, are adaptability and the ability to change with the times. “Styles evolve, as does the way we train. I hire apprentices from the schools and my mentor stylists and I teach them in-house. Since we all play a part in each other’s education and growth, we have become a close knit group of friends. We love doing hair and we care about each other and our clients. We have fun together and that speaks volumes about our salon. We care, that’s what sets us apart.”
