Franke at Seaside: Non-profit, Faith-based Continuing Care Retirement Community

Nominated for four Best Of categories this year is Franke at Seaside. Best assisted living, one of the best independent living communities, one of the best memory care programs and one of the best retirement communities are just a few of their many accolades. This is largely due to their talented employee team which has been built with care and hard work throughout the full healthcare continuum Franke offers.

Independent living is by far the largest demographic of the community with some 250 residents, but there are also graduated levels of care offered, including assisted living, memory support, a 5-star Medicare certified long-term care skilled nursing center and short-term rehab. Franke at Seaside is a faith-based, non-profit ministry of Lutheran Homes of SC, with the mission of helping families find retirement and healthcare solutions that fit their needs. “Navigating the journey of one’s later years can be quite challenging on many levels,” said DeAnne Reed Vane, the marketing director for independent living, who along with the rest of the Franke team is thrilled to help clients find the resources needed to make decisions. “Don’t be afraid to plan for this phase of your life. There are many choices and it’s certainly not a one-size-fits-all situation. Your plan might be to simply remain in your home, but it’s important to figure out what that looks like down the road when needs may arise. Not having a plan means the future only holds a question mark in that regard. Be in control of your own future!”

Winning Best Of and being nominated multiple times comes as no surprise considering the beautiful Franke campus is situated among lagoons and live oaks draped in Spanish moss. The Shoppes at Seaside, a retail center, is within easy walking distance. Independent living residents enjoy the luxury of excellent dining venues, a state-of-the-art health club and wellness center complete with training staff, life enrichment activities and cultural events. In higher levels of care there are not only parallel level-appropriate amenities, but also ongoing collaboration with families and personal doctors to ensure every need is met. All Franke residents experience the benefits of paid utilities, weekly maid service, 24/7 security and first responder service, and all interior, exterior and landscape maintenance. It’s clear to see residents are part of the family regardless of where they reside on campus and whatever their need Franke teammates are willing and able to find the perfect solution. This mutual, organic collaboration grows long-lasting relationships and supports the positive reputation Franke has throughout the Mount Pleasant community and beyond.

The staff at Franke at Seaside want everyone to know they are extremely honored and grateful to be a part of Mount Pleasant and Charleston communities and hope to serve them for years to come. Take a virtual visit, give them a call, or come for a tour and Franke at Seaside will make you feel at home.
